The General Meade Society has done much over the years to preserve, restore and re-dedicate Civil War
monuments and sites.
Following are some photos take of the restoration of the Pennsylvania Monument in Gettysburg.
The General Meade Society has recently established the William H. Boehmer Memorial Preservation Fund. This fund has been established
in the name of founding Member Bill Boehmer who passed away in February of 2008. This fund is dedicated to local preservation. Donations are
accepted.
On Saturday, September 27, 2008, The General Meade Society hosted the 1st annual Beef & Beer (some renamed it a Beef & Billy) to start the
preservation fund. Photos from this event can be seen through the photo journal.
